CodeSys training and consulting for PLCs for Torresol employees

Curso de CodeSyS PLC para Torresol

Company

Torresol is a leading company in concentrated solar power, with operational plants in Spain and an international presence.

Its mission is to promote technological development and the operation of large central tower solar plants and parabolic trough collectors, including the Gemasolar (Seville) and Valle 1 and 2 (Cadiz) facilities.

Challenge

Train Torresol's technical staff in the CodeSys PLC development environment, providing practical knowledge and comprehensive documentation so that they can independently analyze, understand, and manage the code for their control systems.

Problem

  • Lack of internal knowledge: Staff needed to thoroughly understand the development environment and PLC code.
  • Need for instructional documentation: There were no clear, structured materials for practical learning.
  • External dependency: Without training, code analysis and management depended on external consultants or suppliers.
  • Code complexity: The plant's PLC contains multiple interconnected modules and functions critical to the operation of the plant.

Solution

How we do it?

We designed and delivered a comprehensive CodeSys course for Torresol employees in San José del Valle.

  • Customized teaching materials: Documentation and step-by-step guides were created to analyze the PLC code and understand each section.
  • Practical training: Employees were taught how to use the CodeSys IDE, review logic, and simulate the operation of control systems.
  • Integrated consulting: Through practical and theoretical sessions, questions were answered, key concepts were explained, and the staff's independent learning was reinforced.

Results

  • Technical personnel trained to analyze and manage PLC code independently.
  • Reduced dependence on external consultants for reviews and maintenance.
  • Greater understanding of the CodeSys environment and plant control logic.
  • Educational documentation and reference material available for future training and internal analysis.
  • Strengthening of internal technical capacity and operational autonomy in control system management.
